The United States Navy is apologizing after one of its pilots made an obscene skydrawing in Washington state on Thursday.

According to KREM, officials at the Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island said one of their aircraft made the skydrawing, which depicts male genitalia.

Multiple photos of the skydrawing made the rounds on Twitter Thursday afternoon.

In a statement to KREM, the Navy said, "The Navy holds its aircrew to the highest standards and we find this absolutely unacceptable, of zero training value and we are holding the crew accountable."

FAA officials told KREM that because the act posed no safety risk, there is nothing they can do.
