Just minutes after the Houston Astros won the 2017 World Series, the Detroit Tigers offered their congratulations to former pitcher Justin Verlander.

Verlander was a key component to the Astros' championship, including two major wins in the American League Championship series that sent the team to the World Series.
He made a last-minute decision to accept a trade to the Astros in the beginning of September.
