The first move Ken Holland made this offseason was acquiring prospect Dylan Sadowy from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2017 third-round draft pick.
Sadowy was set to re-enter the NHL Draft, but the Red Wings agreed to a deal with him during the acquisition.
Friday night, Sadowy scored a hat trick at the team's scrimmage during development camp.
Tyler Bertuzzi added a highlight-reel goal, knocking the defenseman's stick out of his hands on the way to the net.
