Michigan has a very youthful roster heading to the field this Saturday against Florida. Jim Harbaugh believes that won't deter the team from competing with the best in the Big Ten - and beyond - this season.
In the first weekly interview of the season with Brad Galli, Harbaugh dismissed the notion Michigan's window closed last season.
"The only kind of window analogy I'd make is, the season starts Saturday, so the window's open. No doubt about it. Do we have the license and ability to be good and be darn tough to beat? Yes," Harbaugh said.
Florida head coach Jim McElwain has been very critical of Harbaugh's decision not to release a team roster until Wednesday. Harbaugh has also yet to name a starting quarterback. Michigan's head coach had a terse response on Monday.
"The same," he said with a grin. "We'd love to know who's Florida's starting quarterback is going to be, because they have not announced that. I'm sure they'd want the information from us. We'd like to have it from them."
"Seems like the only ones being taken to task over that is us. It's very much the same thing," he added."
