After holding an open casting call to find the perfect person, TV20 Detroit has named Jessica Lundy as the station's new host.
She will represent TV20 and TV20Detroit.com as an on-air personality and is likely to quickly become a familiar face in metro Detroit.
Jessica attended Eastern Michigan University and has several years of hosting experience in the Detroit area.
In December, WMYD held an open casting call for the position at the Detroit Marriott inside the Renaissance Center where nearly 1,200 potential candidates from throughout the area auditioned for the role.
"There were so many talented candidates at the auditions and we’re thankful that the people of Detroit responded in such a positive way," said WXYZ/WMYD VP and General Manager, Mike Murri.
"Jessica’s personality and confidence jumped off the screen during the auditions," he said. "She brings the positive attitude we’re looking for to represent TV20 on all of our platforms. We’re so excited that Jessica is part of the team."
Jessica is thrilled to be chosen for the role. “I'm so thankful for this incredible once in a lifetime opportunity to bring my fun, energetic, and passionate personality to the TV20 family," she said. "I'm looking forward to starting this amazing journey and making a positive impact on the city of Detroit."
Jessica Lundy will start her hosting role during the week of January 11, 2016.
