Rock veterans Sponge, soul legend Melvin Davis and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Allee Willis will be among the special honorees when the 27th Annual Detroit Music Awards.
It'll be held May 4th at the Fillmore Detroit. Doors open at 6pm, and ages 18+ are welcome to attend.
The ceremony will feature performances by the five original members of Sponge, Davis, rapper Kash Doll, folk-rockers Frontier Ruckus, the electro-soul troupe Liquid Monk, an Assemble Sound Residency with SYBLYNG & Guests, and the soul-flavored pop of Virginia Violet & the Rays. The show will also feature a special appearance by 80s hip-hop hit-makers Maroon.
