Wins for Warriors Foundation,  founded by former Detroit Tiger and Houston Astros Pitcher Justin Verlander, and the Metropolitan Detroit Veterans Coalition (MDVC) will be hosting the first-ever side-by-side 4 Mile Run and Veterans Day Parade in the Country!

The unique tandem event is part of the 3rd Annual Armed Services Salute,  Detroit’s Official Veterans Day Celebration.  The day-long event will feature the 4-Star 4 Mile Race, the 13th Annual Detroit Veterans Day Parade, and a free, family-friendly Vets Fest to celebrate our nation’s freedom and those who have served to protect it.

The 4-Star 4 Mile Race and the Veterans Day Parade will launch simultaneously at 11 a.m. and run side-by-side though Downtown Detroit, starting and ending at Cass Park.

The theme of the race is “Run to Honor”, and participants will have the opportunity to dedicate their run to a veteran or military member when they register for the race.  Using the #RunToHonor hashtag, they can also share the impact these veterans have made on their lives through social media.

Registration is $35 ($25 with a military and veteran discount) which includes an exclusive 4-Star 4 Mile t-shirt, course map, refreshment stations, post-race entertainment, finish line photo opportunity, and a dog tag medal.

Cass Park (2nd Avenue & Ledyard St. in Detroit) will also host the Vets Fest. The free event will open to the public from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and will include food, family activities, live music, free concerts and exhibits by local veteran support organizations
