DETROIT (WXYZ) — The sculpture garden at MBAD African Bead Museum in Detroit houses 18 outdoor installations as well as the African Bead Gallery, N'kisi House and the African Language Wall.
While the exterior of the building is beautifully covered in murals, it is currently in great disrepair and at risk of collapse.
Phase 1 of a renovation plan raised $200,000. The museum is now launching Phase 2 of its fundraising campaign. Money raised will pay for demolition and shoring the museum walls in preparation for a new gallery space.
