Michigan Featured in Depression Era Glass Exhibit in Dearborn

DEARBORN. MICH (WXYZ) — Popular Michigan tourist destinations and iconic Michigan products will be featured in a nostalgic display presented by the Michigan Depression Glass Society (MDGS) at their 47th annual show and sale, taking place Nov. 2-3 at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in Dearborn.

A dozen Michigan cities including Romeo, East Lansing, Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, Traverse City, Holland, Benzonia and Detroit, and upper peninsula towns of Paradise and Christmas, will be spotlighted in the "Michigan Road Trip" vintage glass exhibit.

Long-time products associated with Michigan such as Jiffy Mix, Kellogg's, Vernor's, Sander's, Better Made and more will be honored as the display will feature Depression Era kitchen baking items, a period breakfast table, soda fountain glass, candy jars and chip-and-dip snack servers.

The MDGS Show and Sale takes place Saturday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 15801 Michigan Ave. (US12) at Greenfield Rd.; $5 donation at the door and parking is free.
