SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) — A local charity organization is making sure Michigan children have a safe and comfortable place to lay their heads.
Nationwide, an estimated 2.2 million kids sleep on the floor or share a bed with a family member. In metro Detroit, there are at least 1,000. That is the number of requests a local chapter of Sleep in Heavenly has received.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a 100% volunteer-driven and donation-driven organization that "fully believe that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs."
Donations go toward purchasing materials for beds, bed assembly and delivery, building and improving our organization.
For more information on their mission or how to get involved, visit Sleep in Heavenly Peace's website or Facebook page.

Other Ways to Donate

Or you can make an in-kind donation to a Chapter. When you do this, you offset their operating costs, allowing them to build more beds.
