YPSILANTI, MICH (WXYZ) — The 2019 Thunder Over Michigan Air Show presented by Grunt Style Airshow Majors and the Yankee Air Museum is once again filling the skies of Metro Detroit and the Historic Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
The excitement kicked off Saturday, August 3rd at 9am and runs through Sunday, August 4 at 5pm.
This year is all about the Corsairs! The annual air show features the World’s Largest Gathering of the “Bent Wing Birds”. Other highlights include performances include The USAF F-16 Viper Demo team along with Red Bull Air Race Champion Michael Goulian and Jack Links Screamin Sasquatch—the world’s only jet powered bi-plane. Other attractions include World War II battles, aircraft rides on Vintage Aircraft as well as Huey and Cobra Helicopters, and dozens of vintage and modern military aircraft on the ground for folks to see up close and personal.
Thunder Over Michigan also offers activities for the entire family including a kids fun zone, bounce houses, monster truck rides, food and drinks for all to enjoy and an atmosphere perfect for a weekend.
