Telling stories in the metro Detroit area is truly an honor and a dream come true. My hometown is Grand Rapids, Michigan, so it feels good be pursuing my passion in my home state.
I was born and raised by a single mother, who worked hard to teach me kindness and respect while fighting for what I believe in.
It was my mother who convinced me to become a journalist. She helped me work my way through college at Columbia College Chicago, where I majored in journalism with a concentration in broadcast journalism and a minor in public relations. During my time in Chicago, I interned at ABC7-WLS as part of their news planning department.
My career has kept me moving throughout the Midwest. I started at WLIO in Lima, Ohio, and then traveled an hour north to WTOL in Toledo, Ohio. My career then took me out west to KSHB in Kansas City, Missouri.
After a brief break from the business, I started freelancing for 7 News Detroit in the summer of 2018. Once the fall it, I was offered a full-time position as a reporter. I moved from weekends, to mornings, to eventually being promoted to traffic anchor in 2020. I love waking up bright and early every morning to make your morning commute smooth!
When I am not reporting the news, I enjoy spending time with friends and family or reading a good book. In the summer, I make it a point to spend as much time as I can along Lake Michigan.
