It was a display of the best Michigan student broadcasters and scholars!  About 500 people packed the Great Lakes Media Show inside the Lansing Convention Center for the Michigan Association of Broadcasters’ recent 2018 Awards Luncheon.  High school and college students from across our state heard remarks from Karole White, MAB President & CEO and Peter Tanz, MAB Chairman.  But the highlight of the afternoon centered on many students collecting their well-deserved award plaques.

The MAB Foundation (MABF) also announced the winners of the 2018 Scholarship Program where $28,500 in financial scholarships were handed out.  One of them went to Lacie Hudson, a freshman broadcast major at Michigan State University from Detroit.  Lacie was selected as this year's recipient of an MABF Scholarship sponsored by WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 and the Scripps Howard Foundation.  It was a pleasure being there in attendance with Pauline Retty, WXYZ/WMYD-TV Human Resources Generalist, to see this talented young lady  being honored while her mother, grandmother and MSU professor watched from the audience.
