A John R. King teacher is taking the Detroit Public School Community District to court.
Katrina Brown filed an unfair labor practice complaint against the district. She is fighting to get the lead and copper out of Detroit Schools.
"Students were drinking contaminated water and my own blood levels for copper were high," said Brown. "If my levels were high, how is it affecting the small children at the school?"
Brown and her attorney are holding a press conference at Western High school prior to the Detroit School Board meeting.
