Detroit celebrities are on a mission to help homeless men, women and children. "Dancing with the Detroit Stars" kicks off November 19th from 7pm-Midnight at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. Watch the video player for JoAnne Purtan's interview on 7 Action News at Noon.
 
Proceeds from the event will benefit homeless men, women, and children who receive care and  assistance each year at South Oakland Shelter. Reservations for tickets and tables are available at www.southoaklandshelter.org

Mary Callaghan Lynch, Artistic Director of The Motor City Lyric Opera and Patrick E. Lynch, President of Lynch and Sons Funeral Directors; Elizabeth Cook, teacher at Birmingham  Covington; Cindi Hodgman, Personal trainer at Beverly Hills Club; Amy Emmett, Owner of Next Step Broadway and Brad Emmett, Executive Creative Director at Doner; and University of Michigan's Fab Five, Jimmy King, now Coordinator, Business & Community Partnerships at Ecorse Public Schools. Celebrity judges include Rabbi Rachel Shere from Adat Shalom; Attorney at Abood Law, Alycia Penn Covington; Founder & CEO, Ignition Media Group, Dennis Archer Jr.; and Arthur Murray's dance pro Jeremiah Childers. 105.9 Kiss FM morning show host, Coco will be the evening's emcee.
