Disney's "The Lion King" musical playing at Detroit Opera House

Disney's "The Lion King" musical is  at the Detroit Opera House through February 26th. Click the video player to see JoAnne Purtan interview two actors, the man who plays "Simba," and also an actor who grew up in the Detroit area and studied at the University of Michigan.

Performances are Tuesday-Friday at 7:30 p.m. Shows will also happen at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sundays.

There will also be special Thursday matinees on Feb. 2 and Feb. 23 at 1 p.m.

A special open captioned performance will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for the long-awaited return go on sale Sunday, Nov. 13 at all Ticketmaster locations, online at broadwayindetroit.com or by phone at 800-982-2787 and at the Fisher Theatre box office.

You can also get tickets at the Detroit Opera House box office beginning Monday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m.

Prices start at $25 for the show, with ticket price varying from $25, $45, $65, $79 and $129.
