Matthew McConaughey — actor, producer, millionaire — and now, professor.
The University of Texas at Austin announced Wednesday that the native Texan will be teaching as a "professor of practice" at the school's Moody College of Communication starting in fall 2019. He'll be joining the Department of Radio-Television-Film after being a visiting instructor since 2015.
“It’s the class I wish I would have had when I was in film school. Working in the classroom with these students gives me a chance to prepare them,” McConaughey said in a press release from the university. “Making movies, turning words on paper into film, is both a science and art — no matter the time or generation. The elements of truth and genuine joy for the process are timeless. That will always be our classroom focus.”
McConaughey earned a film degree from the school in 1993. He'll be teaching a "Script to Screen" course this coming fall.
The Academy Award-winning actor has been a part of numerous films, both as an actor and producer. Some of his more notable movies include "Dazed and Confused," "Dallas Buyers Club," and "The Wolf of Wall Street."
“He has a passion for teaching, and for all things cinematic, that is palpable, even infectious,” said Noah Isenberg, chair of the Department of Radio-Television-Film.
News of the actor's new professional career quickly hit social media Wednesday.
Apparently it's made a lot of people want to go back to school or transfer to UT Austin.

He hasn't said much about his curriculum yet, but the grading scale will hopefully go from "F" to "alright, alright, alright."
