$3.2M construction project on 10 Mile in Southfield begins today

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) — Drivers who work or live in Southfield will want to know about the $3.2 million construction project on 10 Mile Rd. that starts on Monday, July 8.

The city of Southfield and Oakland County Road Commission say the project will take place from Evergreen Rd. to Greenfield Rd.

The project includes removing and replacing failed concrete slabs, curb & gutter replacement, upgrades to pedestrian crosswalks to comply with the ADA and upgrades to some bus stops.

During construction, there will be one lane open in each direction, and lanes will be shifted during the project to accommodate construction.

SMART will also remove and shift current bus stops during the project, and once completed, SMART will reinstall all bus stops.
