(WXYZ) — The average price for gasoline in Michigan increased 6 cents last week, AAA Michigan reports.

Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $2.19 per gallon for regular unleaded.

Motorists are paying an average of $33 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline.

"Right now the average prices at the pump in Michigan are just about on par with the national average," said Howard Hughey, spokesperson, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Despite experiencing an increase from last week, we are still considerably down compared to this time last year and do not anticipate this becoming a long term trend."
