(WXYZ) — Gas prices in Michigan dropped 9 cents compared to a week ago, AAA Michigan reports.
AAA Michigan says drivers are now paying an average of $2.48 per gallon for regular unleaded.
"As stocks continue to grow, while demand decreases, pump prices are likely to continue seeing downward pressure through this week," said Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA - The Auto Club Group. "While Michigan gas prices are higher compared to this time last year, this year-over-year difference is due to higher crude prices this winter over last."
Motorists are paying an average of $37 for a full 15-gallon tank of gas.
Compared to last week, AAA says metro Detroit's average daily gas price decreased slightly and the average is about $2.54 per gallon.
The most expensive averages were found in Ann Arbor ($2.57), Metro Detroit ($2.54) and Marquette ($2.50.) The least expensive gas price averages were found in Jackson ($2.31), Traverse City ($2.37) and Grand Rapids ($2.38.)
