(WXYZ) — Gas prices in Michigan and metro Detroit are up once again this week, but still significantly lower than this time last year.
According to AAA Michigan, prices for the state are up 9 cents from last week to an average of $2.26 per gallon. That's 16 more than this time last month but 68 cents less than this time last year.
In metro Detroit, prices are up 5 cents to an average of $2.29 per gallon, 65 cents lower than this time last year.
Metro Detroit, Marquette and Ann Arbor have the most expensive gas prices, while Traverse City has the lowest average price at $2.09 per gallon, followed by Flint and Jackson at $2.23 per gallon.
