WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Two people were injured after a major accident involving a semi on northbound US-23 between N. Territorial Rd. and 6 Mile Rd.
Chopper 7 was over the scene of the accident, which showed several vehicles destroyed, one flipped over, and a semi also involved in the crash.
According to police, a semi collided with another vehicle traveling northbound. The semi then went through the guard rail and collided with a southbound-going vehicle. Both the semi and the vehicle ended in a wooded area.
Police tell 7 Action News Reporter Anu Prakash the driver of the semi said he fell asleep at the wheel.

Police say the driver of the second vehicle was taken by University of Michigan life flight to the hospital and is surgery. She is in critical condition. The driver of the first vehicle is also at the hospital in stable condition. We're told the semi driver was not hurt.
Right now, southbound US-23 is still closed at Six Mile Rd. while northbound US-23 is back open at N. Territorial Rd.
