AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Bridge work on I-75 in Auburn Hills has been delayed until at least early December, which means lane closures along the highway will continue.
According to MDOT, a combination of weather an unanticipated work will delay the bridge work on the I-75 bridge over the Clinton River.
MDOT said lane closures between Square Lake and University Dr. will continue until at least early December, as will the WB M-59 ramp to SB I-75 and the SB I-75 ramp to eastbound M-59.
According to the department, consistent rain in the spring and heavy rain in the summer and fall resulted in higher-than-normal water levels in the river, which means additional design and construction work had to be put into place to repair the substructure of the bridge.
Crews are now installing 36-inch pipes near the supper piers to divert river water.
