DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Second Avenue overpass above I-94 in Detroit will be shut down Saturday morning, MDOT says.
A bridge inspection revealed advanced structural deterioration in the bridge supports.
The bridge last underwent repairs in 2007, MDOT says.
During the closure, all traffic will be diverted to Woodward Avenue. Pedestrians will use nearby Cass Avenue.
The overpass is scheduled to be replaced starting in February 2020.
