(WXYZ) — Road closures in Southwest Detroit are underway as work on the new Gordie Howe International Bridge project Michigan Interchange continues.
According to the Gordie Howe International Bridge, there will be several road closures over the next few months.
West End Street will remain closed between Fort Street and Melville Street until April 20, 2021. Local traffic and business traffic will access West End Street via Norfolk Southern Railroad to Melville Street.
Fort Street between the northbound I-75 Service Drive and Central Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction for westbound and eastbound traffic from January 4, 2021, to March 1, 2021.
Campbell Street will close to through traffic at the southbound I-75 Service Drive, starting January 4 - 11, 2021. Campbell Street between southbound I-75 Service Drive and Amherst Street will be converted to two-way traffic during this closure.
The right lane of southbound I-75 Service Drive will close between Campbell Street and Junction Street, starting January 4 to 11, 2021.
Campbell Street will be closed between the northbound I-75 Service Drive and alley from January 4 to 8, 2021, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
The right lane of northbound I-75 Service Drive will be closed at Campbell Street from January 4 to 8, 2021, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as needed.
Northbound I-75 Service Drive will close between Dragoon Street and Campbell Street over a long-term period starting at 7 a.m. on January 11, 2021, for siphon work at Cavalry Street. Access will be maintained to the on-ramp at Dragoon Street to northbound I-75.
