DETROIT (WXYZ) — Woodward Ave. is closing in both directions between I-94 and W. Grand Blvd. over the next two weekends for "critical gas main work," MDOT announced on Wednesday.
According to MDOT, the closure is for DTE Energy to perform the gas main work under Woodward near Amsterdam and Piquette streets.
The road will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, May 29 through 5 a.m. Monday, June 1 and again the next weekend from June 5-8. Also, the road will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Monday, June 1 through Thursday, June 4.
Northbound Woodward will use eastbound Warren Avenue to northbound Brush Street, then westbound Grand Boulevard back to northbound M-1.
Southbound Woodward will use eastbound Grand Boulevard to southbound John R Street, then the westbound I-94 service drive back to southbound M-1.
