Woodward Ave. closing in Pontiac for weekend event

PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) — The northbound and southbound lanes of Woodward Avenue (M-1) in Pontiac will be closed over the weekend due to the Roadkill Nights event.

The closure will begin at 9 p.m on Friday, Aug. 9, and will reopen Monday, Aug. 11 at 10 a.m.

Woodward will be closed between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Orchard Lake Road/Auburn Avenue by the Oakland County Sheriff's Department, according to a release.

Northbound M-1 will be detoured to northbound MLK Boulevard, then to westbound Auburn Avenue and back to northbound M-1.

Southbound M-1 will be detoured to eastbound Auburn Avenue, then to southbound MLK Boulevard and back to southbound M-1.
