WXYZ — The Pizza at Fredi The PizzaMan in Melvindale is known for being great, but it's what the man behind the business does in his off-time that makes his story even better.

Fredi Bello just made a $4,233 donation to The Lincoln Center in Wyandotte. The money came from his nonprofit: Fredi The PizzaMan Foundation. Fredi worked with educators to order equipment for a sensory room that will serve students at 17 districts Downriver.

Once the sensory room is complete, it will be used by students with autism, cognitive and emotional impairments. A sensory room is a safe space where students will be able to feel calm and decompress.

The Lincoln Center is the sixteenth school getting a helping hand from the local nonprofit. List of schools

To date, Fredi The PizzaMan Foundation has donated over $30,000 in equipment to help support students with autism.
