Several fire crews were called to Washington Road in Grosse Pointe late Monday night to battle a large fire involving at least three homes.

Flames initially broke out at a house that was being renovated. The fire then spread to two neighboring homes.
A neighbor tells 7 Action News he went inside one of the affected homes and rescued an elderly woman and her cat.
We're told all three homes are total losses.
There is no official cause for the fire, according to investigators, but the Michigan State Police arson unit is investigating.
