Artist Trey Songz went in front of a judge today and waived his right to a preliminary hearing on assault charges.
Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Aldon Neverson, is charged with assaulting a police officer causing injury and aggravated assault.
The artist was arrested after a meltdown at his Detroit concert in late December.
Songz became angry when Joe Louis Arena cut his microphone off because his performance was going too long.
Action News is told the Grammy-nominated artist started throwing speakers and microphones, pulled down plexiglass and thew his mic stand into the crowd.
Detroit Police say Songz also assaulted a sergeant who went on stage to calm him down. That sergeant was hospitalized with a concussion.
