Christensen Law is bringing back its "Safe Ride Home" program in time for New Year's Eve.
The program reimburses people for rides home with a taxi or ride sharing service on holidays with high drunk driving fatalities.
The offer is valid in Macomb, Wayne, Washtenaw, Oakland, Bay, Kent or Genesee counties. The program had a successful run last month for Thanksgiving, where 300 people took advantage of the program.
“During Thanksgiving of this year, we helped over 300 people get home safely,” said David Christensen, the firm's founder. “It’s easy to see that Safe Ride Home is making a difference for people’s safety, and so we decided to bring it back for New Year’s Eve.”
How it works
If you've had too much to drink on New Year's Eve, just call a cab, Lyft or Uber to take you from the bar to your home. Pay for the ride that night and get a receipt. The next day, email a copy of the receipt along with a copy of your driver's license to saferidehome@davidchristensenlaw.com to receive a reimbursement of up to $35.
