Chick-fil-A leads the list of fast-food restaurants in customer satisfaction, according to the 2018 American Customer Satisfaction Index Report.  

Chick-fil-A scored an 87 for the third year in a row, seven points above the industry average.  

The report's results are measured on a one to 100 scale and are based on customer opinions on elements like staff courtesy, delivery speed, order accuracy, cleanliness and food and beverage quality. 

Among the highest-ranking fast-food restaurants: 

  • Panera Bread – 81 

  • Subway – 80 

  • Arby's – 79 

  • Dunkin' Donuts – 78 

  • Starbucks – 78

  • KFC – 77

Papa John's and Pizza Hut went head-to-head to lead the pizza industry. 

  • Papa John's – 80 

  • Pizza Hut – 80 

  • Domino's – 79

  • Little Caesar's – 77 

Burger chains scored lower on the spectrum, but Wendy's took the lead from Burger King this year.

  • Jack in the Box – 74

  • McDonald's – 69 

Chipotle Mexican Grill still leads over Taco Bell, despite a decline in 2016 due to the company's food safety crisis.
