Local company creates graphics for GM Ren Cen.

Posted

In January 2016, the General Motors Renaissance Center will have three different graphics displayed.

The graphics highlight the company's popular vehicles for the North American International Auto Show. The company that creates the graphics, IM Branded, showed us how they make it possible.

“It’s funny we’re always being asked how do you do it,” says Jim Whitehead, IM Branded president.

The answer: with a really big printer.

It's 18 feet long and is on 24/7 for about a week creating hundreds of panels. For this project, more than 800 panels will be used and each one is 4 feet wide and 30 feet long.

The panels create a 60,000 square foot display.

“I’m very fortunate in that what we do garners a lot of attention. What we do ultimately makes great impact and that makes me very proud and happy,” says Whitehead.

IM Branded has also done work on Detroit Police cruisers, the Detroit Zoo water tower and for the Belle Isle Grand Prix.
