Security to be tight for 2016 NAIAS

Posted

Security will be extra tight to keep all of us safe at this year's North American International Auto Show.

Carl Berry is head of security for the North American auto show. He says they expect a record nearly 850,000 people at this year's event at Cobo Hall.

Coordinating efforts will be police, deputies, state and federal partners in both uniform and plain clothes.

Among this year's rules, visitors will not be allowed in without proper tickets or wristbands and weapons are strictly prohibited.

Security preps have been underway for the past year, but in reality there are 3 decades of experience.

Detroit Police Deputy Chief Renee Hall has also led efforts to stay on the cutting edge of counter terrorism efforts, related to the auto show.

Dep. Chief Hall says guests should always remember the advice, if you see something suspicious make sure to say something.
