(WXYZ) — Believe it or not, Halloween is less than two weeks away. It’s time to get those Halloween costumes in order. You could run out and buy one for $30 -$40 or, you could take on the challenge of making a cheap, creative costume with items you likely already have at home.

Here are a few ideas if you're willing to take a dive into Halloween DIYs (and every single one of them will cost you less than $10 bucks!)

Costume: Classic ghost
Tools/materials: Sharpie, scissors and old worn out pillow case

Just cut out holes on the sides and top for your child's arms and head. Cut a jagged edge on the bottom. Write the word, "BOO" in big black, bold letters, and you're set with a boo-tiful costume.

Costume: Chicken
Tools/materials: White feather boa, chicken hat, white clothing for underneath, yellow dish gloves and cotton balls

Wrap the feather boa around the white outfit. Stuff the fingers of the gloves with cotton balls and strap those onto the child's feet. Put the hat on, and everyone will say, "Check out that chick!"

Costume: Minion
Tools/material: Yellow long sleeve shirt, blue overalls, winter Minion hat and a homemade Gru logo pin or patch (can be printed online)

Attach the pin/patch to the front of the overalls, put the hat on and you’ve got a Gru-vy look!

Costume: Paintbrush
Tools/materials: Poster board (one thick, one thin), duct tape, two packets of pipe cleaners, floral foam and children's paint, long sleeve black top and black pants

The effort is all in the hat. Cut the poster and measure the circumference of the head. On one side, cover with duct tape to mimic the brush's silver metal portion. Separately, bind together four small boxes of floral foam. Put the hat over the foam, and trim the excess around the edges. Then, duct tape the four blocks together to create a circle shape. Add pipe cleaners, separated by color. The pipe cleaners will mimic the paint saturated bristles of a paint brush.

Separately, you can create a paint palette by cutting a poster board into the shape of an artist's board. Create color splotches with paint colors, coordinating with pipe cleaners, This will be an accessory. Wear all black to mimic the brush's black, bottom portion, and you’ve transformed into a human paintbrush!
