(WXYZ) — The Chesterfield Twp. Police Department are investigating after a crash on New Haven Road just north of I-94 left one person dead and another seriously injured.
Police say the accident occurred Tuesday morning when road conditions were poor.

A driver of a 2013 Ram pickup moving southbound reportedly lost control and was struck by the driver of a 2015 GMC box truck. Police say the 65-year-old driver of the Ram was pronounced dead on the scene. He has been identified as Ronald Powers of Ray Township. The driver of the GMC, a 55-year-old man from New Baltimore, was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
New Haven Road remains closed for further investigation. The New Baltimore Police, Michigan State Police and the Macomb County Road Commission are also offering assistance.
