HARPER WOODS (WXYZ) — A 19-year-old is dead and an 18-year-old has been hospitalized following a shooting outside Eastland mall Thursday evening.
Around 7:20 p.m., police say an Eastland Center employee discovered the body of a 19-year-old laying dead in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his head.
Officers then found a vehicle had crashed into a baseball field fence that's adjacent to Harper Woods High School. Inside the vehicle was an 18-year-old driver with a gunshot wound to the head. The 18-year-old was taken to Ascension St. John Hospital in serious condition.
Police say there's possibly a third shooting victim, but that is still under investigation.
Witnesses told police a black 2019-2020 GMC Terrain with tinted windows and aftermarket chrome rims was seen fleeing the scene. There were two to three people inside that vehicle.
