An 11-year-old child is in critical condition after suffering a gunshot wound in Pontiac, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
Police say the incident occurred at a home in the 500 block of Markle in Pontiac shortly after 10 p.m. Monday night.
According to the Pontiac Sheriff's Office, it appears two drivers erupted into an argument and several shots were fired.
An 11-year-old child in one of the vehicles was shot in the leg, deputies say.
The suspected shooter then fled to a home on Madison. Officers were able to trace his vehicle to the home.
Deputies responding to the scene had to call in SWAT to coax the suspected shooter out of the house. He is in custody as the investigation continues.
