Warren police say a 14-year-old was struck and killed by a car early Friday morning along I-696 in Macomb County.
We're told the teen was reported missing earlier Friday morning.
The crash happened on the Groesbeck entrance ramp to eastbound I-696 around 4:25 a.m., according to Michigan State Police.
MSP says witnesses reported that the teen was stumbling while walking along the road. The driver that struck the teen did not stop at the scene, police say.
An investigation is ongoing.
“We are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to call 855-MICH-TIP or Crime Stoppers at 800. SPEAK-UP. While we do have evidence from our on scene investigation we still need to fill in those final pieces and are looking for witnesses," said F/Lt Mike Shaw in a statement.
