YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Two construction workers have died after being hit in a traffic crash in Ypsilanti Township overnight.

The incident happened around 1:40 a.m. Saturday on eastbound I-94 near Harris Road.

Troopers from the Brighton Post responded the scene to investigate the double fatal traffic crash. A preliminary investigation indicated a vehicle struck two construction workers who have been identified as Nicholas Andres Sada and Davyon Desmon-Aereailes Rose, both 23 years old from Lansing.

The cause of the crash is suspected to be alcohol related, according to MSP. The driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old woman from Belleville, was arrested and held at Washtenaw County Jail for operating while intoxicated (OWI) causing death (2 Counts).

Both construction workers died on scene, police say.
