(WXYZ) — Michigan State Police say two separate injury crashes have closed southbound I-75 between Springwells and Schaefer in Southwest Detroit.
Chopper 7 was over the scene of the crashes which showed one vehicle flipped over on it's side, and damage to an MDOT vehicle that was working in the right lane.
According to Michigan State Police, the crashes involved Wayne County road crew trucks.
The first crash happened when a 2013 Ford Escape hit one of the road crew trucks.
Shortly after that crash, a 48-year-old driving a 2019 Jeep Compass was in the left lane and struck a second Wayne County arrow board truck.
The driver of the Jeep was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. The Wayne County road crew drivers were not injured.
Speed is a factor in both crashes, MSP says.
