2 people hospitalized after plane crash at Cackleberry Airport

DEXTER, Mich. (WXYZ) — Two people aboard a small plane were sent to University of Michigan hospital after that plane crashed at Cackleberry Airport on Strawberry Lake Road in Dexter Saturday night.

According to Dexter Area Fire Department, the crash happened around 6:40 p.m. The plane had flown in from Ann Arbor Municipal Airport and attempted to takeoff shortly after, but ended up crashing. It is believed the plane did not have enough power to fully take off.

Both patients are in stable condition at University of Michigan hospital, according to Huron Valley Ambulance spokesman Matt Rose.

The Dexter Sheriff's Office contacted the Federal Aviation Administration, which will be conducting an investigation later tonight.
