2 shot after men started talking to woman at Detroit gas station

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Two men were hospitalized overnight following a shooting at a Detroit gas station.

Police responded to an Exxon gas station on the 17000 block of Harper around 2:11 a.m. to reports of a shooting.

Here's what happened according to officers:

The suspect was inside the gas station with his friend. The victims were with three other unknown men, when the victims started talking to the suspect's friend, a female. A fight ensued between the victims and the suspect, guns were produced and shots were fired. Both victim's were wounded. The suspect fled the scene on foot.

One 33-year-old male victim was shot in the thigh and was last listed in temp serious condition. The other male victim was shot in the body and arm and was last listed in critical condition.

Police say the suspect is a 35-year-old man armed with a handgun. He is still on the loose.

The investigation is ongoing.
