A 2-year-old boy was killed and seven others were injured in a deadly house fire on Detroit's east side.

Police say five young children and two adults were in the home at Mackay and Lawley, close to the Hamtramck border. Neighbors say the fire was mainly on the second floor.

Two toddlers, 6-month-old Kenny Burns and 1-year-old Marcle Burns were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are not currently known.

The children's mother, 20-year-old Asia Kenney and uncle Jamal Currie, 23, were also taken to the hospital. Kenney is in critical condition; Currie's condition is not known.

Two firefighters received second-degree burns to their ears, face and neck.

Detroit's deputy fire chief said their preliminary investigation suggests the fire was accidental – it's being investigated as a possible electrical fire.
