(WXYZ) — We've seen some amazing advances with 3D printers that are changing people's lives for the better – and they could soon be used to print our next kitchen gadget.
Columbia University engineering students are experimenting with 3D printers. They're combining different ingredients in cartridges then cooking them up with lasers.
The group has cooked several foods, everything from cream cheese, to vegetables, even salmon and chicken.
The idea is to use the software in the printer to better customize nutrition, making foods healthier.
