DETROIT (WXYZ) — Three people, including a child, are injured after a shooting that happened early Tuesday morning on Detroit's west side.
Police say two adults, a 39-year-old man and 29-year-old woman and an 8-year-old child were shot. The incident happened inside a home on MacKenzie near Joy Road and Livernois as a result of a domestic situation, according to police.
A 3-year-old child was not shot, but police say was injured and hurt in another matter. The 3-year-old's injuries are non-life threatening.
A suspect was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in the area of Saint Mary's and Vassar on Detroit's west side. No other information has been released.
SECOND UPDATE: Good News, 3-YO was not shot... injuries, but not life-threatening. Just got word from @detroitpolice amending our initial preliminary info. Still expecting more updates, keep in mind they have a suspect but no one in custody. Stay tuned.

Huge area blocked off covering parts of MacKenzie and Prairie on Detroit’s west side. I’ve heard it’s a shooting, but can’t say how many victims... most neighbors I’ve spoke with woke up to sirens/lights, not the shots. @wxyzdetroit pic.twitter.com/NxuwA9cgnC
