FERNDALE, Mich. (WXYZ) — Every Friday, 7 Action News is in your neighborhood, taking in the sights, sounds and fun!
This week, we’re heading to Fabulous Ferndale for the 12th Annual DIY Street Fair and Funky Ferndale Art Fair. The festival runs Friday through Sunday and is free to enter.
7’s Alan Campbell will be broadcasting live at 5 and 6 p.m. from the street festival, where thousands will turn up for the food, music and 150+vendors.

As always, while we’re in your neighborhood, we like to see all the good happening. Photojournalist John Ciolino visits the legendary Wetmore Tire and Auto Repair shop, you know, the one on Woodward with the yellow car on the roof.
The yellow car overlooking Woodward Avenue has become a landmark for Ferndale. Watch his story in the media player above.
Also, we visit a non-profit organization in Ferndale that has had tremendous positive influence on the community since it opened in 1989.
Tune in at 6 p.m. for a feature report on Affirmations, an LGBTQ community center.
Happy last official weekend of summer 2019!
