DETROIT (WXYZ) — Ain’t no party, like a downtown party.
Every Friday, all summer long, the urban beach at Campus Martius cranks up the tiki torches and hosts a summer party, complete with live music, tropical drinks and food.
This week, we’re heading to the Friday Beach Party in Detroit for 7 In Your Neighborhood. As part of our special coverage, 7’s Glenda Lewis will be broadcasting live from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, taking in the sights and sounds of the party.
In addition, we’ll be exploring the best of Detroit in all our newscast, starting at 6 a.m. with a look at a Detroit food gem that has been churning out legendary sandwiches for nearly five decades. At 6 p.m. we’ll take you to Detroit Impact, a community center that has been mentoring at-risk youth for decades.
