7 things to do in your neighborhood this weekend | Sept. 13 - 15

(WXYZ) — Though weather may not be on your side this weekend, don't let the rain keep you from a good time. It'll be bright skies and sunny highs on Saturday and Sunday.

Here's a list of 7 things to do in your neighborhood:

1. The Great American Lobster Festival

The Great American Lobster Fest is back at Hart Plaza, and if there’s anything we learned in year one… it’s how much the city of Detroit loves their lobster!

Date & Time: Fri., Sept. 13 beginning at 5 p.m. through Sun., Sept. 15 ending at 9 p.m.

Cost: General admission is free.

2. FCA Septembeer Fest

The City of Auburn Hills is hosting its first-ever SeptemBEERfest event which will take place at Riverside Park (located at 3311 Squirrel Ct.) in downtown Auburn Hills.

This Michigan craft beer tasting event will feature two blues bands – Corey Dennison and Lucas Rhoades, lawn games, BBQ-style food from Bad Brads, and a variety of craft beer options from Roak Brewing Co., Rochester Mills Beer Co., Perrin Brewing Co., and Midland Brewing Company.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Auburn Hills Community Foundation.

Date & Time: Friday, Sept. 13 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Cost: Tickets are $25-35.

3. Erebus 20th Year opening weekend

Erebus in Pontiac was named the best haunted attraction in the United States in 2019. Teens grab your friends and parents and get an early start on the Halloween fun.

Date & Time: Fridays and Saturdays in the month of September. You can choose a time slot from 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Cost: General admission tickets are $20.

4. Food and Wine Festival

Head out to the 3rd annual Detroit Free Press Wine and Food Experience for a day filled with tasty treats and delicious drinks! The Grand Tasting event will be held at Cadillac Square.

Date & Time: Sept. 14 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: Tickets will run you $65.

5. Flat Rock RiverFest

The Flat Rock Riverfest will take place at the beautiful Huroc Park, located along the Huron River in downtown Flat Rock. This years festival will feature three days of family fun and entertainment – including fireworks, carnival rides, incredible entertainment, large beer tent and great food!

Date & Time: Beginning Sept. 13 beginning at 5 p.m. to Sept. 15 at 5 p.m.

Cost: Free.

6. Troy Family Daze

Gather the whole family and join the fun at the Troy Civic Center as the Troy Family Daze celebrates 50 years of family friendly memories.

Date & Time: Check out the festival hours below:

  • Thursday, Sept. 12: 4:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m.
  • Friday, Sept. 13: 4:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sept 14: 11:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 15: 12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Cost: General admission is $3, kids age 5 and under are free.

7. Say Cheese Fest Detroit

Say Cheese Fest is a social event that celebrates everything cheese! Say Cheese while eating cheese samples from the area's cheesiest bites for our inaugural Say Cheese Fest in Detroit. Enjoy foods like mac & cheese, cheese pizza, grilled cheese, hard/soft cheeses and more!

Date & Time: Sunday, Sept. 15 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Cost: Tickets range from $30 - $50.
