An 8-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run in Detroit, police say.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Miami and Fort streets around 5:02 p.m.
Witnesses saw an older model, green Chevy Tahoe with tinted windows drive through a red light, striking the child. The suspect then continued northbound on Fort Street.
The 8-year-old was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The funeral will take place at 1:00pm Friday, May 4 at Trinity Chapel on South Fort Street.
Family members tell 7 Action News the boy suffered from autism.
